  2. bAll provincial colon cancer screening programs are designed in line with guidelines from the Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care, that is, CRC screening for individuals at average risk between the ages of 50 and 74, with a fecal test every 2 years or flexible sigmoidoscopy/colonoscopy test every 10 years. There are two recommended fecal tests — guaiac fecal occult blood test (gFOBT) and fecal immunochemical test (FIT). CRC screening programs in the Atlantic provinces have used FIT since inception
